Surgery for Scheuermann's

Reading a lot of horror stories of people who feel worse after having surgery. I'm only 24 and suppose to be having surgery next month. Everybody is telling me not to do it, the surgery is from T2-L2. It's hard not having a support system but I'm afraid maybe they will be right, what if I just get worse after the surgery-not like I can ever take it back.....

Thinking of having the surgery because of daily pain and slight cosmetic reasons but mostly to deal with the pain.

Any advice would be great!

  • The ONLY two people who know whether or not you should undergo the surgery, are you and your doctor. If you are not feeling confident this is the right decision for you, then postponing the surgery, and possibly getting a few more consults into the surgery type and necessity is the right decision for you to make.
All of us are scared and second guessing whether or not surgery is the right decision, but only we can know for certain our reasons for undergoing it, and if we feel it is the right thing.....
