9 weeks post op ACDF

I had ACDF surgery August 12, 2014 at levels C5-6. The surgery went fine. My latest MRI shows the hardware is where it should be, but I'm still having a lot of pain. I may go two days feeling pretty well and then it hits me again. The pain is worse than before the surgery. Anyone know if this is still considered part of the normal healing process? The pain is in my neck and shoulders. I also get bad headaches about every two or three days. My MRI from a week ago shows a posterolateral bone spur at C5-C6 on right side and mild bulges on disc at c6-c7.
Any thoughts anyone?
Many thanks!
