This is my first post on the site and would like to get some feedback from others that have been or going through the same recovery process. A little background, I am 41yrs old an had a laminectomy / microdiscectomy back in 2005 to repair herniated disc and assist with the spinal stenosis. While it relieved the pain shooting down leg, I would still get isolated pain in left hip. It was determined that the joints on the back part of the spine was severely arthritic. My surgeon recommended the 360 fusion with disc removal, cage, bone graft and hardware. He said this would give me the best chance for a full recovery. I am 6 weeks post op and the pre op pain is gone. I have been following Dr's orders of walking several times a day. I have begun physical therapy and returned to work. I will be in a back brace for 3 months.
Since I have started PT, I have noticed that I am beginning to get some cool / tingling sensations in my hips and buttocks. Not really anything painful, just weird sensations. Is this normal? Are the nerves just coming back to life? Is there any way to tell without X-rays or CT's if the fusion is taking? I take a Tylenol 3 once during the day just to help with some discomfort and a Vicodin before bed.
