Lower back pain for 4 months, next steps?

-Had an MRI 4 months ago for lower back pain
-Results showed 6mm bulge at L5-S1. Sciatica symptoms started showing a week after MRI results.
-My PD says it's minor and I should heal with only PT.
-Just finished 3 months of PT.
-Still feel lower back pain and sciatica after 4 months although not as bad. I wouldn't even call it pain anymore but more of a mild aching and inflamed sensation in lower back and left leg is always numb or mild pressured aches down to the toes.

My PT tells me I just need to continue strengthening my core since I have really good mobility and the pain is natural centralization.

What should be my next steps? Is it natural to take more than 4 months for a 6mm bulging disc to heal? Also, since my sciatica symptoms showed up a week AFTER the MRI results, does that mean my condition became worse than what my MRI shows?
