ESI done yesterday - below where pinched nerve/disc bulge is??

Hi all,

New here to the forum - I had my first ESI done yesterday. All in all, not too terrible - sore, and working from home today.

My question is this ... my disc bulge is between c4/c5. I have a bit of radiating pain in my shoulders, but the majority of pain is in my spine itself. Neck, and upper back. This is following a car accident 10 years ago where i was in a reclined position (I was 15 at the time ... in the backseat, asleep) when we were rear-ended at a dead stop by someone going approximately 70mph. I went all the way forward, then snapped all the way back quickly. PT done at that time, and done again (2 rounds) approximately 18 months ago. Never helped much.

SO... the ESI yesterday was done much lower than c4/c5 - it was done in my upper back. Right above where my bra strap would go in the back. (Sorry, best location comparison I can think of!) Anyone know the reasoning for this??? Any other tips and tricks?

Thanks everyone in advance....
