I will be having my first injection and am scared to death. Any advice you can share? Are they painful?

Thank you!

  • I left the report by accident with my doctor, Going from memory the MRI showed degenerative Disk Disease, Scoliosis, Spondylolisthesis, benign meningioma and stenosis. I suffer from Restless Leg , Fibromyalgia, neck and back pain.
  • Honestly, while I was nervous for my injection I was more excited for it. It brought me hope that I would feel better, so I would say don't be scared. They ate uncomfortable but not really painful. There is a lot of pressure and you will feel really warm at the injection site. Any other worries?
  • It is a little uncomfortable. I will ask for sedation next go around. The epidural was a piece of cake for me.  Good luck.
  • I have 2 lower back surgeries,( L5 S1) first one being in 97' and second one a few years later, and now I have bulging discs ( 2,3,4) and have had several epidural blocks to ease/stop the pain so that I can hold off spinal fusion as long as I can. I am 48 yrs old and can honestly tell you that epidural blocks do not hurt and they truly work. My shots normally last me about 10-12 months. I am literally pain free except for a slight twinge every now and then. So you don't have anything to be afraid of.
