Standing MRIs -- why aren't they more common?

I was just told about these recently and have been wondering why aren't they more common for back injuries -- wouldn't it make more sense to show the back under stress rather than lying down?

The magnets are not usually as strong as recumbent ones. I've had both types nothing jumped out differential wise, the upright didn't show herniations that recumbent did but upright measured loss of disc ht as moderate vs mild as in recumbent . This could be a difference in radiologist reading to do who knows. Most doctors I have seen don't use them but I know a few swear by them. That's all I know, I can't remwber the price difference
Do your due dilegence, trust you know your body and question everything if it does not fit. Advocate for yourself and you will be suprised what will be revealed trusting your body and instinct.
