Well, I've been in my wheelchair full-time now for over a year and my pain stays between 7-9 all the time despite being on a combo of oxycontin er and oxycodone ir. I'm at a loss right now. I cry everyday and feel hopeless. How many others on here are in my position? I want to know I'm not alone cuz no one understands how I feel.
I have an appt March 9th with my surgeon to discuss what to do. He is working along si-bone to get my specific insurance company to change their policy. Apparently, out of the 6 regions that our insurance co has in US, ours is only 1 of 2 of their regions that denies this surgery. You can see plainly on my ctrl scan how far apart both sides are and the bone spurs but they don't care.
My pain doc mentioned a spinal stimulator but my surgeon said that would not help because my pain is mostly mechanical. Has anyone else heard this? I was really betting that things would change this year cuz that's what I've been told since January 2014 and now here I am still being denied. I'm all alone here and feel as if no one gives a damn, they probably wish I would just go away.
