Hi everyone, I'm new on here so if I do or say something I shouldn't I apologize.
I've been having lower back pain for years now. I recently went and had an MRI done of my back and they said that I had "Degenerative Disc Disease, a bulging disc, and bone spurs." I'm waiting confirmation of my surgery as I called and scheduled on Monday. My surgeon told me that I don't exactly "need" surgery, but he believes that it'd be worth the try. He told me that its pretty alarming that my back is in the shape it is at 20 years old. He said that if I was 40 he wouldn't recommend surgery, but since I'm so young he feels like it'd be a good option. I'm pretty scared about the surgery tbh.. I've been through months of physical therapy and going to the chiropractor. I've also had an epidural done but I never did it again as I was in even more pain than I was to start out. Nothing has worked, in fact they made me hurt so badly afterwards that I couldn't hardly move. The pain starts in my lower back and runs down my left buttocks area. Recently though, I've been having pain not only in my lower back and leg but my middle/upper back as well. The pain in my middle/upper back is a little lower than my shoulder blades, and also is in my lower neck area. The main reason why I've signed up on here and am posting this is to get feedback from others. Either if they've had surgery or are well educated about the subject I would love feedback.
