Hey Everyone, hope you all are in good spirits today. I'm on the *new* end of this PM stuff. I have seen my PM doctor on the consult and then he suggested a facet joint injection, which I did in April, it didn't work, so he suggested the LESI and I had that done the first part of May and I'm exptected to have my second LESI July 30th....now my question is, is it normal to only see thePM doc for the injections with no follow ups etc? I have osteoarthritis with ostephytes on nerve root with a bulging disk with side effects of sciatica going on right now...doing pt but wondering if this is all normal...thanks!!! :)

  • They typically do 3 rounds of ESI's with the only follow up in between being the time that they spend with you right before your next one. At the end of the 3rd,they should see you to review the results you did or did not get in between, and to plan the next move. Feel free to keep in touch with them, or let them know at any time that the injections aren't working. Usually if there is no response to the 1st, and certainly the 2nd...then there is really no need for the 3rd, unless you just want to give it a try. Best of luck!
