I am new to this forum.I am in a situation and I really have nobody to ask advice; besides my pain dr.First some history to help lead to my current situation.I am 27 yrs old and have been struggling with baxk pain since I was 19.My first job was at toyota doing a lot of repetitive motions.no heavy lifting. My activities outside of work included (not anymore due to pain levels so high I am sick) dog agility, horse back riding, atv riding, trail hiking, swimming, yard work, yoga, bike riding..at 19 i was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. I was rx tramadol 50 mg and meloxicam 15 mg.it helped until this past yr.this past yr has been a nightmare.I work at amazon.com and walk 20 plus miles a day, climb stairs, lift, pull, bend etc doing my job duties.I went to my family physician.I received an MRI of my back confirming osteoarthritis mid back down.Through the yrs the pain went from very mild to now I can barely stand or walk for no more than 30 minutes.I did physical therapy which seemed to irritate my pain even more.I usually got sick during or after due to the pain escalating.Thankfully with my y job i am able to sit for a few minutes while i count certain inventory areas so it helps but not much any more..I struggle to make it the whole 10 hr shift.I fly through my personal time off like a racecar.I was given methadone. It helped wonderfully for 1 month. After 1 month it hit me like a brick! I was in worse pain then ever.Once again more MRIs.I was then passed over to a pain specialist.I received 6 ESI injections bilaterally. No pain relief at all just bruising all over my back.I am now on flexeril for muscle relaxers, zoloft for depression, meloxicam, and now trigger point injections that are not working at all either.I spend a lot of time crying because I worry about everything. How will I keep my job if i cant keep up, i can barely exercise which is why i weigh in now at 260 lbs from 175lbs, activities i once adored are so hard to do so in my mind i worey what my future will hold? I become very upset over everything. It upsets me that I cant find enjoyment in anything I want to do because it hurts me to do things I love.I am at loss on what to do.I do not want to be a pin cushion anymore.I want some kind of relief so I can enjoy things again.Even showering is becoming so painful I try to rush before the pain sets in.Is there anything else out there?

  • When in pain and have all the other stressors which you are dealing with. I am truly sorry to hear that things have gotten to this level for you.
I did read that you are over weight because it creates pain to do any TP or exercise. The thing is what you eat can help you to loose weight right? I have not exercised for over 18 months but have lost 24 lbs eating more healthy and I cannot remember the last time I had a soda. I actually like water which surprises me and it helps with weight loose and cleaning your system out. Please don't take that wrong but added weight can really help sometimes. It is tough when depressed that is one of the things I turn to is eating, so it can be really hard to change that.
How about swimming TP I have a lot of arthritis so I am starting it next week and believe me I hate the thought of it but I
have so little options that I am at the point I will do whatever. It sounds nice the water with no pressure on the body. How about your insurance does it cover that? I am not exactly a model but a Grandma wanting to do things again with my family so I could care less what I look like going swimming. It's just a thought and also there is a bunch of ideas to help besides medications on here calling the "blend" you should check that out.
The job thing can be and was for me devastating and you said you cannot think of or find a job you enjoy or want right?
Maybe you could talk to your Doctor and see if there is any clinics that you could attend that go over all the aspects of living with pain like mental stuff, jobs, family, things to help cope etc. I start one this month and am hoping I can get some ideas and even learn from those there. Believe me it will be a huge challenge for me to do that but if we want to improve our lives we have to keep fighting and you are worth that right?
I hope I have helped you in some small way if you want someone to talk to please PM me I am a good listener and it helps me get my mind off my pain too.
Take care of yourself and try to think of ideas that will move you forward
