I don't know what you mean about playing games with pain clinic.

I think that means you are seeing pain management.
Seeing my PM doc, about six years now, initially I had variety of testing and treatment, some effective, some not.

With all the areas of my spine effected, I have had about 12 epidurals in total. Only two were effective and that was for my leg, ankle and foot pain.
But I consider it trial, and try again.

Now when I speak to PM, who I see monthly, he will say, " oh yeah, we tried epidural ( or this or that) and it not effective". So we don't go through it again.

In my opinion, for myself, I appreciate doc trying different approaches to try and relieve my pain, instead of upping my dosage of pain meds.

And it is frustrating. Treatments and or meds for one may be effective and for another, not effective or may be harmful.
PM docs do have their protocol to follow to justify medications and or the dosages of meds or needs to change meds.

You are right. It is frustrating.
