A big hello from Ohio ! I have been around here for many years. Life intervened and I took off nine years to take care of my parents both here and in Montana. Fun stuff being an only child. I dealt with cancers, Heart Failure, Abdominal block from cancer surgery, diabetes and Allzheimers. I was on this site before this transition took place, I have 2 scoli curves, cervical and lumbar. My knees were becoming more arthritic all this time and I was able to use darvocet in this interim for caregiving pain relief.
Fast forward to 2015 and I have 2 knee replacements, shoulder repair and the usual round of injections and the seemingly endless new faces iof NP's every few months. My Pain doctor decided to go to interventional only and has since decided not to go with opiate medications, Luckily, I was off of fentanyl, morphine and vicodin by this time and at the last appointment was on 5mg oxycodone. I tore up the prescription and said " I'm so done," That was two years ago and I am on gabapentin and flexeril (cyclobenzaprine ) and lots of Advil Liquigels.
I see some familiar names and glad to be here again. Mom and dad are resting in peace now in Montana.
I am ready at 70 to rock the house..!! with my accordian. Anyone for a little Lawrence Welk and Myron Floren ?
