New and introducing myself.

I can hardly believe the struggle to get the right doctor, the right medicine, the right dose, even the mere compassion anymore for my back pain. I am currently fighting with the PM doctor I have who, insists upon me seeing yet another neuro for another opinion about surgery. I had been to one in the last year who said no to surgery. That's not good enough. Now, if the neuro says no to surgery again,I am to see yet another PM doctor who can do a selective nerve root block at L5 on the left to find out exactly what is the cause of the pain.

So, here's the kicker... I recently had a Myelogram and it shows the Advanced Disc Disease at L4-L5, bilateral and lateral narrowing and moderate narrowing greater on the left and nerve root inpingement in the left neural foramen. L2-L3 has moderate disc disease, and mild stenosis. There is also a prominent Schmorel's node (9mm) on the inferior aspect of L4 vertebral body also containing gas secondary to vacuum phenomenon.

Anyone thinking the doctor is sending me to the neuro needlessly-and if the surgery isnt necessary, then why the nerve block when my report shows EXACTLY what's up and that I do in fact have a nerve root impingement?

I have been against any back surgery for a long while. It was a relief when the neuro said not needed a year ago. Now, I may just get another opinion. If so, I am open to surgery. I cannot take the constant fight, the constant ongoing $40.00 co-pays for Pain Management every month and the same co-pay for the Opana Er 15 mg that I take 2x a day. The PM wont increase it and I am going nuts over the pain! I can't take this anymore. I am deeply depressed. I firmly believe that our primary doctors who now refuse to prescribe pain meds and send us to PM is nothing more than a huge con game that we all are losing at. In my attempts to show the PM doctor my financial limits,it goes unheard. I have not been getting the care I need and it just keeps getting worse and worse. This is craziness. Live in and around S.W. PA? Avoid getting any care here. Run to somewhere else-like another country.

The only doctor that can truly help me is God.
