Reoccurring pain

Hi I had microdiscectomy surgery for a prolapsed disc l5 s1 3 weeks ago. Apart from the operation discomfort I felt really well after the operation. I was told when I was discharged to avoid lifting, bending and stretching up which I have done. However I have walked quite a lot and living on my own have had to more or less carry on as normal. I saw the physio for the first time Thursday and, although impressed by the amount of movement I have, said I had been pushing myself too much. She likened it to running a marathon without any training. She was confidendent that I wouldn't of caused any damage but said I needed to ease off a little and be kind to my body. Today I'm feeling a little discomfort in my leg, slight pins and needles. Has anyone else had this three weeks after the op when it had gone completely immediately post op?
