Considering SI Joint fusion surgery

Hi! I am considering having a fusion of my left SI Joint and I'd like some personal experiences from people who have had the newer, less invasive procedure. I had a Lumbar Fusion of L3-L4-L5 back in 2012. Never made a full recovery and doctor came to conclusion that SI Joint is to blame. Injections seem to help. Also had a Rhizotomy back in March which helped but not nearly as long as expected. Planning another round of injections next week and after that surgery if they help. I'm specifically looking for info on post op pain levels, time In hospital, recovery time. I have two small children so amount of downtime is important.

I trust my doctor, however he has never performed this procedure on a live person so that is a bit worrying to me.
