Artificial disc replacement and fusion combination

Has anyone ever had an artificial disc replacement combined with a fusion to treat a multilevel disc problem? I saw an article about this online and know that it has been done at a cervical level. If I have done my research, ADRs are done at one level only right now. I'm wondering if this could be an option that decreases the chance of adjacent disc herniation for fusion patients who would otherwise have a two level lumbar fusion.
