Hello. I was a member here many years ago but haven't been around in a while, but I am suddenly experiencing some rather upsetting new developments and any input would be greatly appreciated..... thank you in advance.
I have had 7 back surgeries on my low back. In 2007 I had a Medtronic SCS implanted by a local anesthesiologist for the nerve pain in my right leg due to nerve damage. I also have Adhesive Arachnoiditis. As the leads scarred in, they rolled and migrated so that when I turned the device on it was stimulating my chest wall and I couldn't breathe. After a few months of messing with the settings I simply stopped turning it on, and just decided to leave it be. I opted to not have it removed as I didn't want surgery #8 and it wasn't bothering me unless it was turned on.
Fast forward 8 years to this week.... I started noticing that I was having some strange new back pain and pain into my right thigh. While taking a bath this week I felt that the implanted battery pack was free floating and migrating almost up against my spine. I was alarmed to say the least. I mean I can turn it completely around simply by manipulating it with my hand. It is resting against my spine. I saw my regular doctor today who has been on the phone all day trying to find a surgeon, whether orthopaedic or general, who will see me asap to address this issue.
I'm scared and freaked out to say the least. Has ANYONE else experienced anything at all like this, and what was your outcome???? I have googled my brains out and can't really find much on the subject.
Again, thank you for any input or information. Welcome to Spine-Health
