I'm 20 years old and got an MRI done for my constant severe pain. The MRI results revealed mild degenerative changes at C3, C4, C5-C6 and C6-C7 levels associated with mild disc desiccation and mild disk narrowing at the C5-C6 level.
At the C5- C6 level a small central disk herniation is in minimal contact with the cervical cord. I also have a disc bulge at C6-C7 levels.
I'm pretty much always in pain. I got acupuncture done and it helped for my pain but I recently just saw a bunch of information on the web saying its really not proven to be effective and it also can puncture a lung...now I'm worried its dangerous to even get acupuncture done again..
In the meantime, I was at the ER two days ago for severe pain and saw a doc that gave me oxycodone 5's for the pain. The bottle says take 1-2 every 4-6 hours but I know the doc who scripted them, pretty much implied, you can take a reasonable dose more than that. The problem is, I'm kinda worried about taking oxycodone daily. Even at the really small dose I take it for. The pain is just so bad and if I'm too worried to do accupuncture, I'll need them for pain. Any helps or advice guys??
