Hiya , i was diagnosed in 2008 with c.d. , however had suffered from back pain and neck pain getting worse in the neck since 2005 after a back injury at work. After many arguments and getting nowhere with my neurologist i moved g.p. and hospital where i insisted on new mri scans , after 3 m.r.i.s. , the results came back "large" bonespure complex compressing the spinal cord , the c-5 disc allmost gone ! , the c6 , c7 , bulging discs compressing the cord .

I am going in for acdf surgery in 3 weeks and terrified , i am only 40 years old and have been told by the surgeon the neck pain is not the aim of the operation just the nerve pain in the arm , which i only suffer from when i do manual tasks , is there anybody out there who can ease my mind and say the neck pain and muscle spasms will go after surgery ? .

I personally belive this is not c.d. and this all stems from a back injury, all advise would be great and any questions welcome as i have been dealing with this for 8 years + now , than you
