Hi there, new to this great site. My husband had a laminotomy/discectomy on 11/19, the surgery went well. Day 1 post-op was pretty good, he was in minimal pain and was able to walk a bit every hour, had a good appetite once the nausea wore off. That evening, he got very cold, and enormously sore, to the point he could barely roll over in bed or get up to use the restroom. He complains of weakness and extensive soreness. Day 2 post-op is the same, and now he is sleeping nearly all day. He's only getting up when I prompt him to, and just to ice, walk around the apartment a tiny bit and eat. His appetite has decreased. I'm really worried. Is this normal recovery behavior? I'm most worried about the excessive sleeping, but perhaps this is normal. Any advice? I'm so worried, and doing my best to care for him.
