I've been directed to these forums on numerous occasions in preparation for--and now recovery from--L4-S1 fusion surgery which was performed on 1/8/16. What a caring, compassionate, lovely group of people! My journey to try to find relief, as most of you have attested to through your experiences, has been one of both the great hope of feeling like a particular treatment might just be working, and the crushing disappointment when the pain returns and you're left wondering what's next.
I've had medical--ahem--professionals tell me it was "all in my head", and that if I tried hard enough, I could"will it away"(yes, that was verbatim). Thankfully, I was finally seen by a competent group of physicians who discovered that I not only had a destroyed disc at the L4-5 level, but also bilateral Pars Defect, and advanced spondylolisthesis. All in my head. I WISH!
I understand the healing process will have its ups and downs, but I am very happy to have found these forums to be able to share the good and the not so good days! Nice to "meet" you!
