The ER will do what they can, but my experience is, once my condition is not deemed urgent, I am dismissed from ER...sometimes with a script, sometimes not....
Sometimes I have answer to my symptoms that brought me to ER, often times, not.
But always, I leave with instructions to follow up with my primary doctor within two days.

ERs do not take the place of individual primary doctor.

You definitely need to have a doctor, to answer your questions and to follow up with your injuries and monitor and help to manage your pain.
There is no substitute to having a doctor assess you, guide you towards healing, and reassure you..re the treatments, etc...

You said your meds are not working.
Your primary doctor would be there to listen to you communicate not only your painful symptoms, but how effective or ineffective the treatments and meds are.

Often times, the hospital will be able to give you a list of doctors to choose from.

Re your financial situation, talking with a social worker at the hospital may benefit you.
They are aware of companies and or resources out there that would work with you and your financial circumstances.

There are ways of getting back on track.
The first step is usually, asking for help.
