hello I really need some help before I loose my mind. I was a very athletic young girl (im only 19) when I started experiencing back pain. I got an MRI in February 15 and found out I had a bulging bdisc L4/L5. I went to a specialist and they recommended me stop exercising and avoid lift bending etc for 6 months and I would be fine. I did exactly what he said as I knew it would be worth it in the long run. I got another MRI in augest 15 and I had developed a second bulging disc about it and really bad degeneration in one disc. Gutted ith the results the specialist recommended discectomy. I agreed as I felt it was the only option as I was in extreme pain. I got the surgery in October 15 and took 12 weeks off school. at no point after my surgery did I feel any better. as the weeks went by I did not improve. long story short its 16 weeks post op and I am worse than I was before. I am in constant pain and have on and of sciatica which I have to go to bed with its so bad. I never had sciatica before my surgery. Can someone please give me a reason for this... im young and should be living life not struggling with every day activites thanks x

  • Hi Sophia,
Have you seen another surgeon for a second opinion? I assume you are being monitored by the first specialist, but if you are in this much pain you may have to get another opinion soon. Thinking about you...
