I'm sure many of you have been involved in "conditioning programs" with the hope of returning to work. Can you give me an idea of what is involved? I've heard of one such program here, but my doc and physiotherapist have said they would never approve it, as it's too fast-paced and intense. My body does NOT respond well to that!!

  • Hi

I've attended a 2 week intensive Cognitive Therapy course, that might be similar.

    It was residential 08.30 - 16.30 5 days a week x 2 weeks

We did a lot of exercises and stretches (aqua, gym, fitball, pilates) and also leaerned a lot about our physical problems (I have DDD and bulging discs) 10 people attended with various upper and lower back problems.

6 weeks after we had a follow up day. Similar exercises but most people had improved and some gone back to work after years of not working.

This may not be the same thing, but gives you an idea

    good luck
