break in half

I often find myself saying I feel like my back is going to split in half. Sometimes it's my lower back where the fusion was done and sometimes in the middle of my back. I don't know what causes this pain. I wish I had some advice or answers for you. Unfortunately without insurance it's hard to get the proper treatment you need. I am assuming you live in NY? Have you tried to apply for Family Health Plus insurance or Medicaid? I lost my job due to chronic back pain and lost my insurance. I couldn't afford to pay COBRA's rates so I went to Rural Health Network in my area which referred me to mother and babies center to help me apply for insurance for myself, kids and husband. You can also go to social services and apply for medicaid. That's hard to get unless you make very little money. Even my disability payment was too much for medicaid and I don't get that much.

Anyway, sorry this is so long and that you are having these pains. I hope you find some answers and releif soon. Until then, we are here for you and are glad that you joined this site.

doesn't hurt....

It doesn't hurt to call and check to see what you are qualified for. I didn't hear that about Family Health Plus so I don't know. I live in NY between Syracuse and Binghamton. The best thing about FHP and medicaid is that they don't have a pre-existing clause. You really should look into this. Try googling New York Health Insurance Assistance or something of the sort. I was fortunate to find a place in my town that my PT guy told me about it and I didn't even know the place was there.

Worth Trying

but if you do not have succes there, maybe you have a teaching hospital or medical university in your area? You can get excellent care there and they charge according to your income. Good luck and please keep us posted.
