I asked my surgeon's office for a copy of the surgical notes, and I just received a copy of the transcribed report.
Nothing terribly different in the report that I hadn't been told except for the following:
"During this, a very slight dural tear was encountered and after the nerve was extensively decompressed, this was patched with a piece of collage [should that be collagen?] and Tisseel, which was also used to perform hemostasis."
The NS never said anything to me about this, and I'm sure if I ask him he'll say it's relatively common and not a big deal.
Anybody know anything about this? Is it common? Should I be concerned?
