All of the normal sciatica pain but it also hurts in the groin area. Does anyone know what this could be?

Hi, I've been diagnosed with a pinched Sciatica. I have all of the symptoms and the inflammation but I've also been experiencing pain in the groin area starting in the last six months. I have already had two MRI's done, one of my right hip and one of my lumbar area both which came up normal. I also had a CAT scan of the right lower abdominal area to look for a hernia in the groin area and that also came up normal. My issue is that I also experience pain the lower right abdominal area included with the sciatica pain. I thought it could maybe be endometriosis but my doctor said that it would only hurt around and during the time of my period. When I was hospitalized the only thing they found via internal ultrasound was a cyst on the right side but they said that if the pain was from the cyst it would subside when it dissipated during my period. Well the problem I have is that the pain is always there and after my last period the pain is still there! If anyone has an idea what this may be I would really appreciate some insight on a possibility. Thank you ahead.

Hi PixiMom and Welcome

Have you had a nerve test or EMG since you've had sciatica or seen a Neurologist? I used to have painful cysts with my periods but it was relieved by Ibuprofen or Naproxen(prescription). If the pain is not going away or worse you need to seek medical attention. Charry

Not uncommon I have very

Not uncommon
I have very similar issue left sciatica + pelvic/vaginal pain on the left. Done every test imaginable, but the issue is my back. I got a selective nerve block to confirm it. In 2 min all my pain was gone. That's how my NS knew whether to operate or not. Every since the surgery i am doing a lot better although the pelvic pain is still kinda there. Hopefully it will go zway ...Best of luck to u

The nerve that runs between

The nerve that runs between the L5-S1 has nerve connections to the groin. The left half of my groin went numb after my L5-S1 herniation and I would frequently get the "lightning" burning flashes in the left half of my penis and testicles. 12 months post microdisectomy, I no longer get any pain in my groin and I've actually got some sensation back as well. Unfortunately, the majority of my inner thigh is still numb and in pain despite surgery and my back is so stiff even 12 months post op, that I can hardly bend over 70% of the time. (previous to surgery I could bend over and move fine despite being in horrible pain otherwise)
