:''( I had a 1 Level PLIF (L5-S1) w/ instrumentation on 18 Aug. How long were you avised to abstain from sexual activites by your doc? My doc gave me no guidance at all. It's not an issue for me at current w/ the meds and pain but I'm sure as I begin to feel better with the coming weeks/months It will become more of an issue.

  • Good luck in your recovery! I had 2 level S1-L4 and my doctor wasn't very forth coming with advice either. He pretty much told me I could do whatever didn't hurt me. It might take some trial and error along with a lot of pillows to resume relations. Just be careful! I tried at 3 weeks post op and it was very uncomfortable but no pain. It got a little better each time after.
  • I was doing it at four weeks. Its all in the position. Doctor recommended 8-10 weeks.

    Best Wishes,
    Christina :)
