William , like Chip, I am very lucky.

My wife of 46 years has basically been my care taker since 1978.  I have a son (44) and daughter (41)  that even when they were little always helped out.  Still today, they will come by to help.

Couldnt have done , couldnt be where I am today without the three of them

  • I'm so very thankful for the support system I have! My husband was for many years and now I've been blessed with a wonderful friend/roommate who just "happens" to be a retired nurse and serving brings her joy. My family, some near some not are so helpful in ways of encouragement and staying in close touch.  I have some close friends who also live with chronic pain and we talk often. And now I have all of you and a new pain psychologist! If not for all of this I would go downhill fast. We all need that human contact pain or no pain. Someone said, to have a friend, you have to first be a friend, wise words. I'm so blessed and thankful for all of you.

My husband is my biggest supporter and caregiver. He listens to my whining and moaning, even tells me when I need to sit down or lay down. He goes to every doctor appointment, asks his own questions and gives his opinion.
My 2 girls and the grand kids are also very supportive. No matter what news we get, their answer is "just another hurdle"!

And the forum. From the first day I came on this forum, I got support. And I'm still getting so much support.

Thanks William for another topic that needs to put on here.

  • My wife of almost 41 years has been my rock! She was 17, I was 18 when we got married and has stood beside me through thick and thin! And of course this site! If people would only understand what this site is all about, they would be lifelong members

Consider yourself very fortunate if you have someone to lean on in your life. Many of us do not and we face our hurdles mainly alone but this forum really helps. A lot of very supportive people on here and I'm thankful!

I am so sorry but I'm glad we are here to help you and others that are alone.

My daughter's favorite saying me is "hurdles, Mom, hurdle, hurdle" lol

Sandra, I appreciate your thoughts but I'm used to it at this point. It would be great to have a supportive "other" but that is not to be. I think this makes my bad days worse because I have no encouragement here but, like I said, the people on this forum really help. I'm thankful for everyone sharing. I often read the comments without responding but I'm here! :)
