Has anyone taken this drug? My Dr wants me to try some samples to see if it helps. I guess it is in the same class as Flexeril. He seems to think it will help me sleep better at the same time as helping my severe chronic muscle spasms in my neck/shoulder post 5 level posterior fusion C3-T1..

  • AMrix is a once a day dosed muscle relaxer . It is the same drug as those of us who take flexiril three times a day but the sleepiness is supposed to be reduced.
Good luck with it. I hope that it works well for you.
  • I take it as needed for pyriformis spasms. It works very well for me, but that part about the reduced sleepiness is a total lie.. knocks me out for a day at a time.. ;)

  • Just noticed you changed your avatar. Love the eyes on that cat!

  • Amrix is 24 hour Flexiril. I tried to take it but it knoecked me out. I was so out of it I thought I had the flu. Just could not shake the sleepiness.

Doc said to take it at night an hour or two before bed because of the drowsiness. But I had ALL DAY drowsiness and it did not help me sleep strangely.

    Good luck with it.
  • C,

That kitty is blind. Ironic, huh? ;)

  • Cherish22, That is pretty much what I felt. Sleepiness but as far as helping me sleep , not a bit. Plus did not do much for my muscle spasms either.. Can't see taking it as it is pretty expensive and not sure the insurance will cover it... they already denied my Lidoderm patches as they are only for ' postherpetic pain'....
