Has anyone else had this weird internal feeling of tightness in their affected limb?

Has anyone else had this due to nerve compression and radiculopathy/scaitia etc?….

In my arm affected by my cervical herniation... when I move it, it feels like there is a feeling of pressure, almost like there is a steel cable running through the centre of my arm attached to my shoulder internally, and when i move my arm, it feels like this invisible the cable goes taught and tightens inside, causing tightness and pressure inside the muscles. This accompanies the weakness and heavy sensation in the limb, like its full of lead. I have heard many people describe weakness, but nobody has mentioned this internal feeling of pressure / tightness. Am I the only one?

Just curious.

  • I have the exact sensation except in my left calf muscle. I had a lumbar fusion 4 weeks ago today and have had residual nerve pain in my left leg. It has improved but is still there. I start therapy next week and I am hoping they can help me.

  • I had this terrible pain in my right arm. From what you are describing to dull ache, tingleness, numbness to eventually loss of strength in the arm and hand. The nerve pain presented itself in many horribly painful ways. I am so sorry for your pain!
