new member-chronic neck pain and migraines
I hope it is OK for me to be here since I don't have back pain but chronic neck pain/severe chronic migraine.
Discovered this site thru a Google search about pain meds and was really impressed on the treasure trove of information I found on the subject.
Also just recently started with a PM doctor and you all have taught me so much on that subject as well.
I'll be as brief as I can in telling you my story.
Was with a wonderful MD for the last 15 years. He has had me see 6 Neuros, a neuro psychologist, and the pain doc that was in town 10 years ago.
None of the above was any help at all because all they wanted to do was repeat the drugs we had already tried.
I also have an MRI at least every three years.
Nothing is ever seen on these MRI's but I have been involved in two major car accidents in my life so I always wonder if that is the culprit.
Over the last 15 years my MD has tried me on every preventative drug with little or no help and just about every pain med out there.
Have been on LA and SA meds and because of tolerance have to change them up from time to time.
Have been taking Percocet 10/325 3 per day and xanax as needed for the last 3 years.
It isn't perfect but it works most of the time.
So, my MD decided to retire a few months ago and neither of the other docs in the practice wanted to script my meds.
That's how I ended up at the PM doctor and so far I feel really comforable there.
I also take Zofran for nausea and hydroxyzine for sleep.
I am scheduled for a Occipital injection on April 25 and hopefully that will be of some help.
Hope I hit all the points I needed to.
Looks like you have a great site here with many really knowledgeable people.
