Medication that can ease the pain

Hello everyone,

my mom has constant pain in her legs. She has gone to the doctor several times, but they haven't done much. They sent her to knee specialist where she got an MRI done and got some kind of steroid injection. It worked for about two months but now the pain is back and even worse. Her toes tingle, her arms hurt, and her legs hurt so bad that she can't stand or sit for long periods of time. She can't sleep because of the pain and tonight it has been even worse. She says she can't feel her chin or her fingers. She also says it's some kind of burning sensation on her feet. We went to the doctor this week and they told us it was most likely something caused by the spine and gave us a physical therapy referral. We're hoping to get an appointment this week, but right now my mom is in serious pain and I don't know what to give her to ease it. If anyone has had similar problems please let me know what kind of medication I can give her or something I can do. I feel so helpless right now.

  • I'm sorry for you and your Mom! It's SO hard to watch someone you love going through such physical torture. ..
Have mom call her doctor to find out if it's ok for her to use Aspercreme+Lidocaine on her feet/legs. No, it's not going to make her pain free, but I did use that when I was having leg/foot symptoms, and it did ease the pain/burning in those areas somewhat!
I'm sure having you there does more to make her feel better than you might think.
Hopefully, her upcoming appt will put her on the path to getting better.
    Take care of YOU, too!
