Tai-Chi Definition

Tai Chi is a form of low-impact exercise emphasizing slow flowing movement, breathing and mental focus. The Chinese healing art has become a popular alternative therapy to treat and manage back pain and neck pain. A number of studies have shown that Tai Chi provides several physical as well as mental benefits. The slow and fluid movements improve the body's posture, balance, and alignment effectively reducing stress on the back. The rhythmic breathing encourages muscle relaxation and blood circulation. The meditative state of mind reached while performing the exercise is said to reduce stress and anxiety that may contribute to pain.
